Recently, there was a drama on Twitter (not surprisingly), saying godot has become a "woke" engine. It all started with the fact that one of the Twitter users began to hate because he uses a public engine, saying that all public engines are "woke", the community manager sided with the user and, as far as I understood, made an unfortunate joke by publishing a post calling for them to send "woke" games and rename the engine to "wokdot" (that's kind of how) the shit started. There were a lot of trolls (with the support of some well-known youtubers) and the community manager, without understanding, began to ban everyone in a row, false stuffing also began, they say, they began to block access to the engine repository on Github (but they seemed to block the most complete idiots there were 5-6 of them), also gradually everything began to grow into a political debate. As a result, the redot engine was created, a fork of the godot engine, which is "out of politics". As for me, nothing bad happened, the engine is open-source and nothing prevents it from being forked. I agree, the admins went too far, but canceling an entire engine with a large community is stupid. Most likely, redot will die or be a pure godot clone, I don't think he has a future, and this drama will be forgotten in a week. And xananax has nothing to do with godot (he created the first discord server, which gained popularity), like the administration as a whole, the godot foundation simply does not have the money to hire them.
